It’s the last week of summer here in Austin, where did the time go?
Slowly, we are preparing for the new school year. There’s a new backpack in a bag by the kitchen table. We have a checklist of school supplies that need to be ordered from Amazon. On my cell phone I’ve started a list of healthy snacks for kindergartners. Yes, I’m a 46 year old dad with a 5 year old.
I’m embarrassed to admit that I only finished a handful of things on my honey-do list this summer. Sure, the yardwork always got done (in fact, my front lawn has never looked better), the ceiling fans have been cleaned and dusted, and about half of the garage attic has been cleaned out. But there are still a lot of things to be done.
As I mentioned, my kiddo is going to start kindergarted this week. For the first time in 5 years, this stay at home dad is going to have 7 full hours everyday to get things done while my son is in school. I’ve managed to keep my Real Estate business alive during this time to support my family, but really, there has been very little time for myself. I’m looking forward to being more productive.
