Houses with views of Downtown Austin
Paul Lamb, the Architect responsible for overseeing this beautiful remodel of this Westlake Home did an amazing job updating this property for today’s modern family.
Thanks to Lizz Grimes for allowing us to feature her beautiful listing.
Generally we feature modern homes on EricEstate. Ideally we like to focus on that style as there isn’t a true easy to use resource for the luxury modern homes in Austin. But since Austin is such a popular place to move to, people are buying the modern, and holding on to them.
So, today, we will explore something a little bit different. It’s a large 5600 square foot home built in 1996 on one of the most desirable cul-de-sacs in Westlake? For those of you who don’t know, Westlake is an area just a bit south and west of downtown Austin. Located between Mopac and 360 on and around Bee Caves Rd, this area has some of the best schools in Texas. And this house is about 5 minutes away from downtown Austin, with virtually no traffic year-round.
Today’s home is located is situated on a large lot, and although it is in a residential neighborhood it is off the main streets, and gets no through traffic. Plus this place has views. Amazing views of everything from the UT tower to downtown Austin.
Inside there’s a formal living, and a large formal dining room immediately off the entry. To the side, is a long extra wide hallway-like room that was designed to showcase the owner’s art collection (both paintings and statues). The walls are covered in venetian plaster, and look very high end.
There are Four full bedrooms, and three full baths, and a handicapped accessible guest suite. Custom cabinetry and built in’s are in almost every room providing plenty of storage of everything you acquire during a life well lived.
One of my favorite features of this home is the butler’s pantry, a little area off the side of the kitchen with a wet bar area, countertops, wine storage, and more cabinets used to store the good china, silver, or whatever else you need for entertaining.
As always, if you are interested in viewing this exclusive property, please let me know and I’ll arrange for a private showing.
There is a handicapped accessible guest suite. And
Paul Lamb Situated on a flat lot, that is just a tad over one acre in Westlake
